Gateway East

Gateway East is a neighbourhood church where you can find family. No one should feel alone or without a place of community where they know they belong. That’s why God drew near to us through His Son Jesus and sent His Holy Spirit to always be with us. God wants us to be a part of His family, and to know that we matter to Him.

That’s also why the Gateway family of churches established Gateway East in a community centre in the northeast area of Winnipeg. We meet in a community centre in the heart of a neighbourhood so that we can express God’s love to people around us.

We gather together on Sunday mornings as well as in Bible studies during the week. On Sundays, we sing songs of worship to Jesus, after which the children and teens go to age-appropriate classes (teens on the first and third Sundays of the month). We then listen to a message from God’s Word which is designed to inspire us and assist us in our daily lives.

We also love sharing lunch together after the service on the first Sunday of the month. In all that we do, our desire is to get to know God better, to experience a sense of community together, and to be motivated to let others know how much God loves them.

Many nations and generations are represented at Gateway East Church! We’re a young church where nearly half of the congregation is under 18, and more than half are from nations beyond Canada. We love the variety, because that’s what family is! And you are most welcome to join us!

Our hope is that the people who gather on Sunday mornings will also meet in homes during the week, inviting friends and neighbours to join us either on Sundays or at home Bible studies. There are people everywhere who are eager to find Jesus, and we want to gather together in whatever way will make it easy for them to find Him!
