This is an annual meeting where we will present the 2023 Financial Report, the 2024 Budget, and also elect new directors. We will also have an update from all 3 churches as to what the past year has looked like.

In person attendance in encouraged; however, for those who cannot make it in-person, a zoom option will be available.

We hope you can stay for next month’s Family Lunch on Sunday, March 3, as we plan to share some vision for Gateway East for 2024. 

These monthly meals as a church family are wonderful opportunities to build relationships and sample new foods, but on March 3, we also want to present to you some exciting proposed updates to the 2024 Gateway East budget.

The Gateway East Leadership Team has felt a sense of unity about proposing 4 significant focuses that are reflected in a 2024 budget proposal that we want to present to you at our lunch on March 3. If you want to look it over before March 3, draft copies of the budget proposal (updated since November) will be available for the next two Sundays at our Info Table by the gym doors.

We invite you to bring a generous portion of food to share, as well as a note listing the main ingredients for those with allergies.

Aaron Wiebe has been in a transition out of pastoral ministry at Gateway and the Wiebes have also felt the Lord leading them to say good-bye to South Osborne (not necessarily Gateway) as their home church.  

We want to celebrate and honor Aaron & Wilma for the 17 years they and their family have invested into pastoral leadership, specifically at Gateway South Osborne.  

This will be a DESSERT POTLUCK (please bring your dessert pre-plated and ready to serve) with a LOVE OFFERING taken up. We welcome you to come ready to bless the Wiebe family!

As a fitting finale to Ron & Mary’s celebration weekend, we will be having a building dedication on Sunday, September 17. This will be a great occasion and a wonderful opportunity to host all three of the Gateway Churches and The Kings School at our new location.

After 43 years of sacrificial love, dedication, servant-leadership, discipleship and investment across Gateway’s Churches, The King's School, the Church of Winnipeg, and around the globe, Ron and Mary MacLean have stepped down as Gateway Church’s senior pastors.

To celebrate this momentous accomplishment, we will be hosting a dessert evening on Saturday, September 16.

We would like to extend an invitation to you and your family (ages 13 and up)! This special event will be potluck style, so we are asking those attending to please bring their favourite dessert to share.

On Sunday, March 12 at 7:00 pm we will have our first in-person Family Forum in 3 years. It will take place at Gateway South Osborne, 486 Rathgar Ave. Agenda items include the presentation of the 2022 Financial Statements, approval of the 2023 Budget and approval of the directors.

We will gather over Zoom on Sunday, January 22 at 7:00 pm with believers from all across Manitoba and Northwest Ontario!

For Christmas morning, we are excited to have all our Gateway congregations celebrate together at Gateway South Osborne, 486 Rathgar Avenue, with worship led by Will and Elyse Horner!

Join us on December 25 at 10:00 am. If you are unable to join us in person, we will livestream our Christmas morning and New Year’s morning services.

KIDS Ministry will not be offered because the South Osborne facility does not have enough space to host large groups in their KIDS Ministry area at this time. Kids' packs will be available for families on both Sundays.

Sunday, November 27, is our CHRISTMAS POTLUCK FEAST! This will take place immediately after the service in the gym.

• A-F please bring 5 lbs of mashed potatoes

• G-S please bring a salad or veggies;

• T-Z please bring a dessert.

Turkey and drinks will be provided!

It has been exciting over the last few weeks and months to have so many guests join us for our Sunday services!

Gateway 200 is being offered at Gateway South Osborne for four weeks on Sunday mornings before our worship service this November 6, 13, 20, and 27. To register for these Sunday sessions please click HERE.

Important: If you are currently in a South Osborne Small Group, there is no need to register on-line for the Sunday morning sessions. You're already registered! Your small group leader will be facilitating Gateway 200 in your small group (at your regular meeting time) for the month of November. Please contact your small group leader if you have questions about how Gateway 200 will be offered in your small group.

What is Gateway 200? No matter how long you've been a follower of Jesus, this four week course is designed to help you grow in spiritual maturity. We explore four spiritual growth habits that are essential to your faith journey and relationship with Jesus. Each session includes a teaching time, practical exercises and opportunities for meaningful discussion.

Gateway 200 is the second stage of the "Gateway Path" and is part of becoming more involved at Gateway. Our desire is that the content of Gateway 200 will help participants to establish and reinforce a strong spiritual foundation upon which future ministry involvement can flourish and grow. It’s also a great way to meet others at Gateway!

Are you a young adult looking for community? Caleb and Tamara Loewen will be hosting the first South Osborne Young Adult Cell Group at their place on Thursday, November 3 at 7:00 pm. The cell group will run bi-weekly after that.

Gateway East’s next Prayer Summit will be on Wednesday, November 2, from 7:00-8:00 pm. We will gather at Kurt and Heather Pay's home at 233 Mahonee Drive (north of Red Oak Drive). There are a few steps into the house, but hopefully access won't be a problem.

Last month, we prayed for a new location, so there is plenty to thank God for as we eagerly plan for our first Sunday at the East Elmwood Community Centre beginning in November. Please come and join us as we seek God for his help with this new opportunity for community-building and for growth!

Baptism Sunday is October 23!

One of the commandments of Jesus was to believe and be baptized. If you are interested in being baptized, or would like more information, we offer a time of teaching to share the importance of this faith milestone.

We will again soon be hosting Gateway East Prayer Summits on the first Wednesday evening of the month. Please mark your calendar so that you can join us on Wednesday, October 5, 7:00-8:00 pm.

There is lots for us to pray about – especially our need for God to lead us to a larger Sunday location!  Details regarding the Prayer Summit location will be shared in next Friday’s Gateway East weekly email.

• Guided Hike, Picnic, Visiting and Swimming, weather permitting

• Picnic: bring your own food  and drinks with a little extra to share with others. We will provide the watermelons, paper plats, napkins and cutlery

• Bring hiking shoes, swim wear and a sweater.  Bring PDF’s for children or those unable to swim safely

• Meet at the parking lots at the Tim Horton’s on Highway 59 north at Headmaster Row at 10am

• We will leave from there at 10:30 am to Whitemouth Provincial Park

• Check your emails in the morning in case we need to cancel

Join us to pray for the fall season of Gateway South Osborne. We want to partner with God’s will in this coming season, and we invite each of you to join us in seeking His direction for our church family. 

We will meet at 7pm, Monday, September 5. This will be in place of our regular September Prayer Summit. There will be no online options for this prayer time, but we are eager to pray in person with you!

Our regular Prayer Summits will begin again in October.

• Swimming, resting, visiting, hiking

• We will provide the barbecue but Please bring a large salad or fruit plate to share with others AND water/drinks

• We will eat around 2:00 pm so plan to arrive between 1:00 and 1:30 pm

• Bring swimming suits, sunhats etc. there is a changeroom at the beach

• Park at the West Beach Parking Lot and walk in- look for the red and white balloons for our picnic area

• We will cancel if it is raining - check your email in the morning for confirmation
